It was revealed that Warwue had recently escaped prison before he was apprehended for a second time.

In 2014, Warwue and five other people had been charged with being responsible for two bus bombings along the Thika Super Highway.

The incident was reported to have claimed the lives of at least three people and left 62 others injured.

The criminal had been alleged to have fitted the IED devices on the bus.

It was reiterated by the police that he had confessed to being a member of the Alshabab terror group after being interrogated.

The court had been told that Warwue had been traced by Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) through his mobile phone after they recovered a Yu simcard at the scene of the bombing.

Investigations into the incident had revealed that the simcard had been bought from a Yu agent shop in Kayole, Nairobi.

Information that had been presented by the prosecution side at that time, had had highlighted that the terror suspect had been recruited to the militia group alongside some Kenyan youths who had sneaked into Somalia through the border at Mandera.

The five who are the crew of the ill-fated buses, were accused to have failed to screen the passengers before the tragedy struck.
